About Small Rat Studios

Hi, I'm athen!

I am a PNW based illustrator, storyteller, and mixed medium artist. I focus much of my works in fantasy, warmth, nostalgia, and whimsy. I am frequently breaking out almost any traditional medium imaginable, and am working to expand my digital knowledge. I enjoy working with vibrant color and texture. Much of my works play with narrative, inspired by both self written and classic childrens tales. 

As a queer and disabled artist, I love to work with diverse stories and help show differing perspectives.

I am working on my BFA in Illustration at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
